{nude+orange}

Since It's Halloween weekend and Orange is HOT this days I decided to share with you one of my Favorite Color Combination: Nuge + Orange!  Isn't that Gorgeous?

I'm in love with Gilles Mendel Spring 2011 Collection. Neutrals always look better with the pop of color, in this case it's bright coral lips and silk orange pumps. Irresistably Gorgeous!)

In my inspiration i used Manolo Blahnik red Pumps, Jasmine Di Milo Silk Light Georgette Asymmetric Dress, and Coral Lipstick from Alise.

And here are the Masterpieces by Gilles Mendel himself......

  9. Since your blog also talks about seasonal color analysis, I was hoping that you would insert your color analysis perspective here. I mean, orange is considered a warm color so it may not look good on someone of cool season esp winters (unless far from the face). As far as I'm concerned, orange is probably one of the worst colors imaginable for winters. (Btw I know that you already made a post on the meaning of the color orange. Would be better if you also add some of your color knowledge HERE as well.)

    Also, the 1st pic where a blond model is shown wearing a bright orange lipstick. I don't know but it seems the color doesn't sit well on her face. I think the color is too bright for her and it overpowers her. I can imagine that kind of color would look more suitable for clear spring and probably warm spring/autumn. And also the following pics of models wearing orange high-heels, I also think the colors are too bright for them. But since it is worn from the face, then I guess it's okay.

    Sorry, doesn't mean to sound like a douchebag LOL. Would love to hear your professional analysis on the color orange and the implementation on various seasons in regards to this post. Thanks in advance.

  10. Dear Anonymous, thank you for a good idea on incorporating color knowledge into color combinations articles. I'll definitely will think of it!
    First of all, Im really impressed with your knowledge of Seasonal Color Analysis, you seems like a professional yourself, or maybe someone who is really passioned about this subject, and that's wonderful!
    This article was written mainly to educate on how to combine colors. I did not try to explain Seasonal Color Analysis in here, but let's see it from the other angle. I have to agree with you, the blonde on the first image looks washed out with this shape of orange. maybe cooler shade would be much better. The brigh orange colored shoe is very tricky color for most seasons except for Brigh Spring or Warm Autumn but as You said, if you wear it away from the face then it's OK.
    But look at the lipsticks of the models, they all vary: like the last platinum blonde with a pale skin has red/blue lipstick which is great on her, when dark skinned girl has more orange in her lipstick color. I think overall designer and make up artist made a pretty good job.
    Thank you for challenging me, I love questions like that)

    Regards,
    Yelena

    P.S. I have a Blog, where I add all the Seasonal Color Analysis Articles. Take a look, It's pretty good place to learn more about Color Analysis.

  11. LOL Thank you for the compliment. No I'm most certainly NOT a professional. I just find this seasonal color analysis a very interesting subject. If all of us have already got the knowledge of our natural coloring, then 50% of the problems we usually encounter when we dress up would've been eliminated. Have to admit, I only discovered about seasonal color analysis a few months ago.

    Anyway, yes I already know about your seasonal color analysis blog, which makes me wonder : why do you have to make separate blogs? Why not make ONE blog where you can talk about any topics incl. seasonal color analysis. Therefore, like I have suggested before, you can also combine any post you have with your own knowledge of the seasonal color analysis. Surely it would make it easier for the readers to understand which colors they can wear and which ones they should avoid.

    Say if one reader is a winter woman and she happens to read this post about the color orange, then she wouldn't have to waste her time searching for orange lipstick, blush, or hat because she would know that's NOT her power color and therefore she shouldn't wear/put it on/near her face. Instead, she should invest her money on orange items that are worn AWAY from the face, such as shoes, pants, belts, brooch etc.

    Same thing if another reader is a soft season (summer) and she reads your post about any color (say a purple), then based on her seasonal color analysis, she would know to look for soft/light lavender tones as opposed to icy/bright vivid amethyst color which is more suitable for winters or clear seasons.
